Since WNCAP was formally organized in 1986, we have bore witness to millions of generous acts from our Western North Carolina community. There are many different ways to support WNCAP, but one of the most important is donations of household items to our clients. Many of our clients come to us with unstable or nonexistent housing. As the National AIDS Coalition says, “Housing is Healthcare for People Living with HIV/AIDS”. In other words, connecting our clients with stable and livable housing is one of the most effective ways we can help them achieve viral suppression and a long, thriving life.
Everyone in our community deserves to eat, sleep and live in safe and comfortable housing. If you have any household items to spare, from beds and sofas to curtains and spatulas, please contact Katherine at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (828) 252-7489 ext. 319.
Currently, WNCAP is most in need of the following items and/or furniture for our clients:
- Beds (any size)
- Coffee tables
- Kitchen tables
- Side tables
- Throw pillows
- Chairs of any kind
- Shower curtains
- Bath mats
- Kitchen utensils (e.g. spatulas, tongs, cooking spoons)
- Dishes: Cups/Plates/Bowls
- Utensils: Forks/Knives/Spoons
