Steady Collective provides harm reduction services on Tuesdays in Candler, and Wednesdays and Fridays in Asheville. Times and locations are available on their website
Holler Harm Reduction is a free and confidential service that delivers Harm Reduction supplies and overdose prevention materials to folks using drugs in Madison County, Monday thru Friday. You can also visit their Drop In space to pick up supplies Monday thru Friday, from 11 am to 4 pm
Buncombe County’s Code Purple program makes shelter beds available when temps drop below freezing (or when temps are below 40°F and raining or snowing). The Code Purple team can also help participants find ongoing shelter and housing options. Shelter intake closes at 8 pm.
- Bus transit through ART is free to Code Purple sites at night and from Code Purple sites to downtown the following morning
- From 5:20 pm to 8:00 pm, tell the bus driver when you get on the bus that you need a free transit to a Code Purple shelter
- The morning after a Code Purple event, transit back to the Coxe Ave terminal downtown is also free from 6 am to 9:30 am on weekdays/Saturdays, and 8 am to 10:45 am on Sundays.
- Community Paramedics and AFD-REST are available to provide transportation for people who are unable to access bus transit
