Buncombe County’s Code Purple program runs thru April 30th and activates when temperatures dip below 32 degrees (or below or 33-40 degrees with rain or snow). During Code Purple, participating shelters provide more beds with fewer requirements than their typical programming and help participants connect with other shelter and housing options. Transportation assistance to and from a shelter is also available.
