June 18 | Offices CLOSED In Observation of Juneteenth

At WNCAP, we believe social justice and equity are central to our work. We know that our organization must push forward to dismantle structural racism and the white supremacist culture that is so pervasive in the world around us.

With this in mind, we added Juneteenth to WNCAP’s official annual holiday schedule. This year, all WNCAP offices will close on Friday, June 18 in observation of Juneteenth on Saturday, June 19. This is a small step, but one we felt was important to take in the long journey towards equity and justice in our WNC community and beyond.

Juneteenth celebrates the emancipation of enslaved Black people in Texas, the last confederate state to receive news of Union victory and emancipation. We encourage everyone to take Juneteenth as an opportunity to read, learn, and take action.

Black joy matters too, so don’t miss Grindfest 2021 this weekend! WNCAP is proud to sponsor the Depot Street Dance Party to close out Grindfest at 9pm on Saturday, June 19!
